Field of Greens, Maman, Aioli, and other community partners join the movement

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — Research shows that loneliness is taking a toll on mental and physical health, but small acts of care and connection can make a real difference. This February, Mental Health America of the Palm Beaches (MHAPB) is launching “Share the Love,” a month-long campaign that invites residents to support mental wellness by showing up, reaching out, and treating themselves while giving back through local partners.

“Love isn’t just a feeling—it’s something we do,” said Andy McAusland, CEO of Mental Health America of the Palm Beaches. “When we care for ourselves and one another, we strengthen mental health and help everyone feel they belong. ‘Share the Love’ gives people simple ways to get involved right here in our community.”

Throughout February, MHAPB is partnering with local bakers and restaurants to raise funds and awareness for mental health programs, including Clubhouses in West Palm Beach and Belle Glade that foster belonging, purpose, and hope.

Drop by MHAPB’s Fern Street Clubhouse to enjoy complimentary sweets and show your support by making a donation toward a box of cookies from some of Palm Beach County’s best bakers, including Maman, Aioli, Nikki’s Jazzy Treats, Kia’s Kreations and More, and The Ba’Kerry @BabiCakeswpb. You can also take home a beautiful Trader Joe’s flower bouquet arranged in a hand-painted vase.
  • Thursday, February 19, 11 AM-1 PM | Glades Clubhouse, 1101 W Ave A, Belle Glade

“We want everyone in Palm Beach County to know there’s a place for them in this movement,” McAusland added. “Whether you visit one of our Clubhouses, grab a smoothie that gives back, or simply check in on someone who might be feeling alone, you can share the love—not just in February, but every day.”

“Caring Hearts & Strong Hands – Celebrating the Love and Dedication of Family Caregivers,” honored 130 family caregivers during a celebration that featured laughter, music, and meaningful moments, giving caregivers a well-deserved respite from their daily responsibilities. Montre Bennett opened the program with a mindfulness moment, followed by Boynton Beach Mayor Rebecca Shelton’s heartfelt welcome and personal caregiving story. Vice Mayor Woodrow Hay delivered the invocation before lunch, then handed the microphone to event host Rod-Z, who entertained guests with comedy, songs, and dancing. The JSharp Band provided outstanding live music that had caregivers on their feet throughout the afternoon.

Highlights of the event included keynote speaker Charlotte Wright’s moving message acknowledging the challenges and profound rewards of family caregivers’ service, and the presentation of the prestigious Caregiver Award to Angela T. Williams of Delray Beach, recognizing her extraordinary dedication and selfless service to her husband.

Healthier Boynton Beach Project Director Ricky Petty reflected on the community support that made the event possible, including contributions from 17 sponsors. “We are a community-driven initiative that listens to voice and experience of caregivers to understand how we can best help them take care of their loved ones and themselves,” said Petty. “The luncheon and the community’s generosity reflect how much Boynton Beach values our work and the everyday acts of love provided by caregivers.”

Palm Health Foundation President and CEO Patrick McNamara commented, “By convening, connecting, and collaborating with caregivers, Healthier Boynton Beach has developed a deep understanding of how to lead change for better health. The luncheon celebrates caregivers’ important role, while the CVS Health Foundation grant strengthens the systems that support them and their family members.”

Community Partners of South Florida Kicks Off 40th Anniversary Celebration

Community Partners of South Florida (CPSFL) officially launched its 40th-anniversary year with an elegant cocktail reception on Thursday, January 29, 2026, hosted at Valley Bank in Palm Beach. The event served as a “kickoff” to a year-long celebration of the organization’s four decades of service, honoring a legacy built on the pillars of home, health, and hope.

The evening brought together long-time supporters, community leaders, and partners to reflect on CPSFL’s evolution as a community development organization. Guests enjoyed light bites and cocktails while hearing moving testimonials about the impact of the organization’s work in housing, mental health, and community.

During the program, CEO Kelly Powell expressed deep gratitude for the partnerships that have sustained the organization since its inception.

“For 40 years, CPSFL has stood alongside families during some of their most pivotal moments – helping them find stability, hope, and opportunity,” she said. “Being part of this organization for so much of its journey has been one of the greatest honors of my life, and this milestone is a testament to the power of community-driven solutions and the people who make them possible.”

Powell also took a moment to specifically recognize Brian Lynott and the Valley Bank team for their hospitality and steadfast commitment. Lynott, who joined the CPSFL board in 2016 and has served as Treasurer and Vice Chair, was lauded for his hands-on dedication. In addition to his leadership roles, Lynott is known as an “enthusiastic champion” of the CPSFL Toy Drive, personally driving across South Florida each holiday season to ensure every child and family served by the organization has gifts to open.

Tenth Avenue North Led by Palm Beach Atlantic University Alumnus Mike Donehey to Perform During Homecoming and Family Weekend

Photo By Palm Beach Atlantic University
The three-time Dove Award-winning band will return to campus where it all began
WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (Jan. 30, 2026) – Palm Beach Atlantic University (PBA) will welcome alumni, families, students, and friends to campus for Homecoming and Family Weekend, culminating in a special concert featuring Christian rock band Tenth Avenue North.
The award-winning band was formed in 2000 while three of the members attended PBA—even naming the group after a Palm Beach County road. Lead singer and co-founder Mike Donehey ’03 will perform on Friday, Feb. 6 (6 to 9 p.m.) in the PBA Rubin Arena/Greene Complex. The concert is open to the public.
“Homecoming and Family Weekend is a time to come back, reconnect with other alumni, and remember what God has done through this University,” said PBA President Dr. Debra A. Schwinn. “We look forward to welcoming alumni, families, and visitors to experience the heart of the Sailfish community through shared traditions, our Christ-first foundation, and a time of inspiring music and worship led by Tenth Avenue North.”
One of the traditions that influenced Donehey’s approach to music during his freshman year at PBA was Thursday Night Live, a student-led worship night now known as Anchor Worship. He reflected on this experience in his book, “Finding God’s Life for My Will.”
“It was in the midst of enjoying God for God alone that I began to grow in what… I like to call worship facilitating,” he wrote. “I truly believe that if I hadn’t spent this simple time worshipping God for Himself, I would never have become any good at helping others worship Him.”
Donehey went from leading worship on PBA’s campus to leading Tenth Avenue North. The group later signed a record deal with Reunion Records. To date, the group has released over 10 full-length albums and several EPs. The concert will be a highlight of Homecoming and Family Weekend, which will also include a sightseeing cruise on the Intracoastal Waterway, a Founder’s Day Chapel service, a community service project of planting 100 trees, an opportunity to cheer on fellow Sailfish during an evening baseball game, Sunday brunch, a basketball tournament, and more.
“Homecoming is the perfect time for PBA alumni to reconnect with former classmates and see the incredible work God is doing to grow the University,” said Jessica Moody Bruce, PBA Alumni Association president and granddaughter of the school’s founder. “The focus of the Alumni Association is to glorify God, connect alumni, and serve students, and we can’t wait to ignite some Sailfish spirt on campus during Family Weekend.”
Homecoming and Family Weekend takes place Feb. 5-8, 2026, at PBA’s downtown West Palm Beach campus. The Tenth Avenue North concert is open to the public. Tickets are $25 each for general admission.

JustWorld International supporters and friends gathered on January 22, in Wellington, Florida, to celebrate the organization’s mission of breaking the cycle of poverty through education and to raise funds to expand its global impact at the 23rd Annual JustWorld International Gala.

International Polo Tour: Plans for Transformational Center

stadium

In a landmark announcement aligned with the commencement of America’s 250th Anniversary, Wellington-based International Polo Tour® this weekend unveiled plans for the official IPT Stadium and IPT Educational & Cultural Center, a combination sports, equestrian, and community complex designed to redefine the future of polo and live experiential events in Palm Beach County, Florida.

Conceived as one of the most modern and technologically advanced polo venues ever envisioned, the project will bring together elite athletic competition, immersive fan engagement, equine education, cultural programming, and year-round community use, all positioning IPT at the intersection of sport, culture, and global hospitality.

“This is so much more than just a stadium,” said Tareq Salahi, Chairman of the International Polo Tour. “It is a purpose-built destination, one that will enhance polo’s role on the world stage while serving our local community through dedicated educational opportunities, sustainability, and meaningful economic impact.”

Among the stadium’s priorities will be an emphasis on green-space preservation, as well as thoughtful use of land that supports Palm Beach County’s coastal and community character. Public-facing amenities will include landscaped viewing areas, walking paths, and interactive educational features designed to engage visitors of all ages.

Once finalized, the stadium’s features will include AI-powered interactive kiosks, robotic bar tenders & assistants side by side with human employees, flexible indoor and outdoor event spaces, facilities suitable for equestrian exhibitions, educational workshops, charity galas, and accommodations for all players and horses. The project is expected to increase state-wide tourism and funding for local hotels, restaurants, and businesses

The IPT Stadium will also offer a limited number of Co-Naming and Co-Presenting Sponsorship opportunities, alongside 60+ premium luxury suites integrated with brand activations, hospitality experiences, and dedicated visibility in a stadium that will house anywhere from 8,000 to 15,000. Design models, fabric selections, and suite customization options will be made available soon to qualified partners.

Unlike a traditional stadium, the IPT Educational & Cultural Center will work directly with community leaders throughout Palm Beach County, hosting Professional Arena Polo Matches throughout the year, developing youth and adult equestrian instruction to share wider appreciation for the sport, provide equine wellness and horsemanship programs as well as traditional educational clinics and school partnerships, celebrate Florida’s rich heritage in equestrian traditions, and host charitable events that support the IPT’s long-time partners.

Food Made with Heart: How Carlisle Palm Beach Chefs Turn Healthy Meals Into an Act of Care

At The Carlisle Palm Beach, Valentine’s Day is shifting focus from romance to care, connection, and well-being. Nowhere is that felt more deeply than at the dining table, where every meal is designed to nourish both the body and the spirit of residents.

Leading this approach is Dwight Williams, the community’s newly appointed Culinary Director. An ACF-certified executive chef with more than 24 years of experience across senior living, hospitality, and restaurants, Williams believes food is one of the most meaningful ways to care for others. It is a love language of itself.

“In a senior living community, cooking is about trust and comfort,” Williams says. “It’s about creating meals that support health while still feeling familiar and enjoyable.”

Carlisle Palm Beach’s menus emphasize fresh ingredients and balanced nutrition, with heart-healthy options, while honoring personal preferences and the emotional connection residents have with food. Valentine’s season simply highlights what the culinary team practices every day. Which is thoughtful preparation, consistency, and warmth.

In addition to his culinary expertise, Williams is a trained Assisted Living Facility Administrator, bringing a holistic understanding of how dining supports quality of life. His approachable leadership style fosters a kitchen culture rooted in intention and care.

This February, The Carlisle Palm Beach celebrates love in its truest form—Through meals made with heart, shared moments, and the simple action of being well cared for. The Carlisle’s newly reimagined community, unveiled in 2025 by Liberty Senior Living. With both independent and assisted living options, residents enjoy a lively, resort-style lifestyle just steps away from the Atlantic Ocean and the Intracoastal Waterway. Chef-curated dining, wellness-focused amenities, and a full calendar of enriching experiences–many of which are open to the public–create opportunities for residents to stay socially engaged while connecting with local professionals and community leaders.
