Based in West Palm Beach, D West Law specializes in criminal defense, personal injury, and insurance-related claims, providing strategic counsel and unwavering advocacy to clients across South Florida.

Attorney West’s journey is one of courage and perseverance. From battling self-doubt and imposter syndrome to overcoming the pressures of law school, the Florida Bar, and internal struggles with mental health, he defied the odds to rise as one of Florida’s most promising legal talents.

Derrick West brings a unique blend of compassion and courtroom command. A proud alumnus of Bethune-Cookman University, he holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice, a certification in Paralegal Studies from Hillsborough Community College, and a Juris Doctor from Southern University Law Center.
His career spans years of criminal defense as a public defender and complex litigation at one of Florida’s largest civil firms, Cole, Scott & Kissane. Now, with the launch of D West Law, Attorney West is merging his high-caliber experience with a personalized, community-rooted approach.

In honor of his hometown roots, D West Law will host its first community giveback event: a Back-to-School Drive in Belle Glade, Florida on Friday, August 2nd, 2025 at:

The drive will provide backpacks, school supplies, and essentials to local students and families as they prepare for the new school year.
