With the start of the school year, Â Space of Mind Schoolhouse is experiencing an increased demand for flexible and curated educational options.
Located in downtown Delray Beach, Space of Mind Schoolhouse is a full-time, part-time, and hybrid learning community built on the principles of homeschooling delivered in a vibrant, social environment. Its academic year starts on September 8 and has limited space available for the 2026-27 school year.
“The traditional educational model is not for every student, and with the start of the school year, many students experience anxiety and other difficulties adjusting to the daily pressures,” said Ali Kaufman, founder of Space of Mind. “We take the pressure off students and parents and create a learning environment that actually works for students. Through personalized project-based and experiential learning, our students engage in meaningful work on a creative and innovative campus designed to meet diverse learning needs.”
Students can join programs from kindergarten through high school, moving through a college-preparatory pathway that prioritizes curiosity, independence and real-world skills. Space of Mind’s college-bound students have a 100% acceptance rate and have earned over $7M in merit scholarships.
Space of Mind’s Schoolhouse customized K–12 homeschool curriculum aligns with Florida State Standards and graduation requirements. And Space of Mind Learning Standards integrate creative, social, emotional, wellness and character development into every academic and extracurricular experience.
The program also uniquely works with the entire family, extending coaching to parents in order to help generalize newly-developed skills into the home as they are practiced and mastered at school. For students with extended support teams, including therapists, caregivers and other specialists, Space of Mind’s collaborative nature serves to increase success in reaching wraparound goals.
“Education isn’t just about what students know – it’s about who they become. Space of Mind is school, but built for the way students learn best,” said Ali Kaufman.
 At Space of Mind Schoolhouse, students have campus-based programs, academic coaches, classmates, report cards, beefy resumes and a full 24-credit high school transcript, just like students in traditional schools, plus the individualized support that the flexibility of homeschooling makes possible. One-on-one coaching helps students develop the skills, habits and confidence they need to become capable, self-directed learners.
Space of Mind’s students are exempt from Florida’s state standardized testing, which means students spend their time focused on meaningful learning, not just test prep. Students can pursue honors courses, Advanced Placement and college dual-enrollment, and they remain eligible for programs such as the Florida Bright Futures Scholarship, PEP and the Step Up for Students Scholarship.
Space of Mind uses the entire city of Delray Beach as an extended classroom, working with businesses, local experts, organizations and at the surrounding parks and beaches. Through the LEO Program, named for Leadership, Entrepreneurship and Originality, high school students are placed with internships and jobs where they receive workforce training, coaching and course credit, while building a network and skillset built from turning what they’re passionate about into a purposeful experience.
