Inger Harvey has been appointed to the Board of Directors for Community Partners of South Florida.

Harvey has served as Executive Director of the Pahokee Housing Authority since January 2020. A proud native of Pahokee, her dedication to housing and community stability is deeply personal.

In 1972, her family moved into the Fremd Village housing development which inspired her lifelong passion for creating safe, stable communities where families can thrive.

“Inger’s commitment to community initiatives across Palm Beach County is incredible,” said Kelly Powell, CEO of Community Partners of South Florida. “Having seen the impact of her leadership firsthand, I am thrilled to welcome her to our Board of Directors. I look forward to working with Inger again in this new capacity as we continue to strengthen families and transform communities together.”

Harvey’s commitment to service began early. At age 12, she started volunteering as a candy striper at Glades General Hospital and Everglades Regional Medical Center, serving for six years. After graduating from Pahokee High School in 1982, she attended St. Edward’s University in Austin, Texas, on an academic and athletic basketball scholarship.

Throughout her career, Harvey has held key leadership positions, including Juvenile Correctional Facility Administrator and Community Planner with Palm Beach County’s Office of Community Revitalization. In addition to her professional accomplishments, Harvey is active in civic and community organizations. She is a member of the Glades Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, a graduate of Leadership Palm Beach County and currently serves as Chapter President of her local Rotary Club.

Harvey and her husband, Othniel, reside in Pahokee and are proud to call the Glades community home.
