From Wellington to the World: Local Entrepreneur Builds Pimp My Ride Style Broadcast Studio at Home

Written By: Kaylee Jay

Wellington, FL– Wellington might have a population of 60,000, but a local man is on a mission to reach the global audience of 8.2 billion. Not many people can say they transformed a room in their home to be a vehicle to reach the masses and an asset to their passions. Elijah Desmond, known to many as “DJ Smiles,” has been working towards a very special project. His room in his home was rebuilt into a fully customized, state-of-the-art videography and podcast studio– creating a space dedicated to connection, conversation, and community. Desmond is taking his passion for inspiring and motivating entrepreneurs to take their business to the next level. He can now reach an audience not just at events, but around the world through independent media.

For more than 15 years, Desmond has committed himself to building and scaling businesses, while keeping people at the center. As Co-Founder and CEO of Dental Pitch Brokerage, he helps dental practices maximize their value. He is also the visionary behind Smiles at Sea and The Dental Festival, events that blend professional growth with high energy and unforgettable experiences. The podcast will spotlight various topics, from entrepreneurship and leadership to personal development and mindset.

The launch of Desmond’s podcast studio marks a new chapter in his journey and a loud statement about the future of media.

“This studio is more than just microphones and soundboards; it’s a way to build bridges,” said Desmond. “I’ve spent my career connecting with people in person, but now I can sit down at home, flip a switch, and create conversations that reach tens of thousands of people.”

Desmond needed a team that could blend technical mastery with genuine passion for purpose-driven projects to bring his vision to life.

“He asked for ‘Pimp My Ride Vibes’ and that’s when I knew things were going to get creative,” said Nikhil Khanna Ramprasad, Project Lead and Founding Principal of Khanna House Studios. Elijah had a big vision for the design. He wanted it to be loud and requested the most advanced technology. But when you are dealing with that much technology– multiple mics, interfaces, cameras, speakers, and a DJ board, the overall goal becomes making the user experience as simple, efficient, and streamlined as possible using software integration and physical hardware that don’t compromise any of the aesthetics or design.”

Khanna House Studios is a videography, podcast, and content creation studio headquartered in Wellington, Florida. The vision was brought to life by partnering with David Haye, of  M.K.D. Empire, to construct and build out the drop-down lighting features, professional soundproofing, and updated flooring to match the new aesthetics.

Desmond’s decision to build a professional-grade studio at home was driven by practicality and his passion for media. “I wanted to remove the excuses,” he explained. “If inspiration strikes at midnight, I don’t have to wait. I can sit down in my own space and start recording right away.”

Desmond’s new studio stands as a symbol of where modern media is headed: accessible, authentic, and built for connection. As content creation continues to evolve at the speed of culture, spaces like his aren’t just the future of media, they’re the new standard.
