Community Partners of South Florida (CPSFL) has received a $75,000 grant from the Community Foundation for Palm Beach and Martin Counties to strengthen its Prosperity Center and expand opportunities that help individuals and families achieve long-term financial stability.

As the cost of housing, childcare, transportation, and other necessities continues to rise, more working families are struggling to make ends meet. At the same time, access to jobs, financial services, education, healthcare, and even housing increasingly depends on digital access and technology skills. For many households, the lack of these resources creates another barrier to economic mobility.

The Community Foundation’s investment will help CPSFL expand its Prosperity Center by integrating digital literacy, technology access, and workforce skill-building into the comprehensive financial empowerment services already offered. The Prosperity Center provides housing counseling, financial coaching, homeownership education, rental counseling, employment support, and asset-building services that help families build stability and create pathways to generational wealth.

“This investment is about much more than technology, it’s about opportunity,” said Kelly Powell, Chief Executive Officer of Community Partners of South Florida. “Economic prosperity begins when individuals and families have access to the tools, knowledge, and support needed to make informed financial decisions, secure stable housing, obtain meaningful employment, and build a brighter future. We are deeply grateful to the Community Foundation for recognizing that investing in people strengthens our entire community.”

For many residents, digital literacy has become as essential as financial literacy. Whether applying for a job, accessing healthcare, completing online education, communicating with schools, managing finances, or purchasing a home, technology has become a gateway to opportunity. Through this grant, Community Partners will help ensure that more residents have the confidence and skills to successfully navigate today’s digital economy.

The need for these services continues to grow. Families across Palm Beach County are working hard but continue to face financial challenges that place them at risk of housing instability and limit opportunities for advancement. By investing in the Prosperity Center, donors and community partners help create lasting solutions that strengthen families, reduce barriers to opportunity, and build more resilient communities.
