Residents and staff of luxury senior living community Wellington Bay are celebrating a triumphant return from Raleigh, North Carolina, following the 5th Annual Liberty Games.

Held from March 23rd to March 27th, 2026, the multi-day Olympic-style competition brought together residents from across the Liberty Senior Living communities for a week of athleticism, camaraderie, and spirited competition.
The Wellington Bay delegation arrived in Raleigh on Monday, March 23rd, and were greeted with the high-energy pageantry of the opening ceremonies at Hayes Barton Place, which featured a live drum line and cheerleaders.
By the time the team returned home on Friday, March 28th, they brought back an impressive collection of medals and one of the event’s most prestigious honors.
The highlight of the closing ceremonies was the presentation of the inaugural Spirit of INSPIRE! Award.
Wellington Bay’s own Artie Lynnworth was named the first-ever recipient of this honor.

“The 2026 Liberty Senior Living Games are a great reflection of what we value most here at Wellington Bay. This competition is more than just a series of events – it’s a clear reminder that aging doesn’t mean sitting still or slowing down,” said Executive Campus Director, Jay Mikosch. “Our residents show us every day that staying active is possible at any stage of life. It’s been wonderful to see them embrace the challenge, but even better to see the friendships and sense of community they’ve built with residents from all over the Liberty Senior Living communities.”
