The Mall at Wellington Green and Wellington Community Foundation Launch 2nd Annual Back-to-School Shoe Drive

As the back-to-school season kicks off, The Mall at Wellington Green and the Wellington Community Foundation are stepping up to support local students with the second annual Steps for Success Shoe Drive. This community-driven event runs July 10 through July 27 and aims to provide brand-new shoes to children in need, just in time for the new school year.

More than 125 Wellington-area kids have registered to receive support for this initiative.

Here’s how it works:

Mall shoppers can participate by selecting a name tag from the Sneaker Blackboard in Grand Court. Each tag includes a local student’s age and shoe size. Guests are then encouraged to purchase a new pair of shoes from a participating mall retailer and drop them off at either KC Coffee & Art location. They are located on the second floor near Macy’s or near Dillard’s on the first floor and are the drop-off locations for the drive.

The Wellington Community Foundation will distribute the donated shoes directly to students in the Wellington community on July 31.
