Clean Beauty Guide: Top Plant-Based & Sustainable Skincare Brands in Palm Beach

Earth Day was never meant to be just a single day devoted to sustainability. At its core, the movement is about creating long-term habits and small decisions made daily that collectively shape a more thoughtful, environmentally conscious way of living.

From mindful skincare to innovative packaging and wellness communities rooted in intentional living, South Florida is home to a growing number of businesses embracing that philosophy. In honor of Earth Day, The Wellington Edit highlights four women-owned businesses that are helping turn eco-friendly choices into an everyday lifestyle.

1. POUCH

Founded by Miami-based entrepreneur Annie Kurnick, POUCH is a wellness brand bringing IV-inspired hydration formulas into a convenient, ready-to-drink format designed for modern, active lifestyles.

The concept grew out of Kurnick’s own experience balancing travel, work, and fitness. After frequently relying on IV hydration treatments for energy and recovery, she began exploring ways to deliver similar nutritional support in a portable format suitable for daily use.

“I founded POUCH because I wanted a practical, everyday way to access advanced nutrition while managing a busy, active life,” Kurnick says. “There was nothing on the market that truly captured the complexity and intentionality of IV therapy in a format that felt portable and realistic for daily use.”

Since launching earlier this year, the brand has begun building a presence within Florida’s growing wellness and sports communities through activations at local fitness spaces such as Wellist Week, Reserve Padel Club, and Traphouse Gym. Early traction has also emerged among athletes, including tennis player Magda Linette.

Sustainability has been a key consideration in the brand’s development. POUCH uses packaging designed to incorporate 50% post-consumer recycled material, and the lightweight pouch format was intentionally selected to help reduce shipping impact and waste.

“POUCH is about building a brand that reflects how we want to live—active, intentional, and mindful of our impact,” Kurnick says.

2. Tammy Fender Holistic Skincare

In West Palm Beach, luxury skincare meets holistic wellness at Tammy Fender Holistic Skincare, a spa and product line founded by renowned aesthetician Tammy Fender.

Since opening her spa in 2003, Fender has built a loyal following for treatments and skincare products rooted in plant-based ingredients and holistic philosophy. Her approach focuses on nurturing the skin through botanicals, essential oils, and natural formulations designed to restore balance and vitality.

The West Palm Beach spa serves as both a treatment destination and the creative center for the brand’s skincare line. Each product reflects Fender’s philosophy that healthy skin is closely connected to overall wellbeing, emphasizing ingredient transparency and nature-derived formulations.

In an era where clean beauty is increasingly important to consumers, the brand remains a notable example of how luxury skincare and environmental mindfulness can exist side by side.

3. Sana Skin Studio

As consumers become more conscious of what goes into their skincare routines, studios like Sana Skin Studio are helping lead the shift toward clean beauty.

The studio focuses on customized facial treatments and skincare solutions that prioritize carefully selected ingredients and thoughtful formulations. Clean skincare emphasizes minimizing unnecessary additives while supporting long-term skin health through gentle, results-driven treatments.

Beyond skincare itself, studios like Sana reflect a broader wellness movement—one that values transparency, intentional routines, and products designed with both personal health and environmental awareness in mind.

4. Moksha Yoga Studio

Wellness spaces often play an important role in promoting mindful living, and Moksha Yoga Studio offers a community environment centered on movement, mindfulness, and balance.

Yoga practices naturally align with many sustainability values, encouraging individuals to slow down, live intentionally, and develop a deeper awareness of their relationship with the world around them.

Through classes that combine movement, breathwork, and meditation, Moksha Yoga Studio provides a space where physical wellbeing and mindfulness intersect—reminding students that caring for themselves and caring for the planet often begin with the same principle: living with intention.

Earth Day may serve as a yearly reminder to care for the planet, but the real impact comes from everyday choices—what we buy, where we shop, and how we support businesses that prioritize sustainability.

Across South Florida, entrepreneurs, wellness leaders, and innovators are finding ways to integrate environmentally conscious practices into industries ranging from food and beverage to skincare and fitness. Together, these efforts help transform sustainability from a once-a-year conversation into a lifestyle that lasts well beyond April 22.

Wellington Surgeons Kyle Eldredge, DO, and Michael Shockley, MD, Attend Intuitive Connect 2026 to Harness Next-Generation Robotic Technology

Dr. Thomas Blake and Dr. Michael Shockley

Kyle Eldredge, DO, and Michael Shockley, MD from Advanced Surgical Physicians recently attended Intuitive Connect 2026 in Austin, Texas.

Held from April 17–19, this premier global forum gathered the world’s leading surgeons to explore the future of minimally invasive surgery and the official integration of the da Vinci 5 (dV5) robotic surgical system.

The theme of this year’s conference, “Connect to Purpose,” focused on the expanding ecosystem of AI, digital analytics, and enhanced surgical precision.

For Dr. Shockley, the conference provided intensive insight into how these advancements directly translate to improved outcomes for bariatric patients in South Florida. The dV5’s smart instrumentation, which captures over 1,000 data points per second, and its integrated digital ecosystem are designed to streamline OR workflows and increase surgeon autonomy.

“Attending Intuitive Connect 2026 allows us to stay at the absolute forefront of surgical evolution,” said Dr. Shockley. “In the realm of bariatric surgery, the precision offered by robotic platforms is a game-changer. Whether we are performing a gastric bypass, which requires incredibly precise stapling and reconstruction of the stomach and intestines or a sleeve gastrectomy, the dV5 enhances our ability to operate with accuracy.”

Throughout the three-day event, Dr. Eldredge and Dr. Shockley participated in technical presentations and training simulations via SimNow, while exploring the My Intuitive app for advanced surgical analytics.

While the dV5 is expanding into cardiac and hepatobiliary specialties, its impact on acute care and weight-loss surgery remains a primary focus for the Wellington-based practice.

By integrating the lessons and technological breakthroughs from Intuitive Connect 2026, Advanced Surgical Physicians continues to provide the Wellington community with access to world-class, minimally invasive surgical options that prioritize faster recovery times and superior clinical results.

PBSO Deputy Michael Mahoney Honored as “Volunteer of the Year” by United Way of Palm Beach County

MikeMahoney

Community Partners of South Florida (CPSFL) is proud to announce that Deputy Michael “Mike” Mahoney has been awarded the prestigious Impact Award – Volunteer of the Year (Mentor) by the United Way of Palm Beach County.

The award was presented on April 14, 2026, during the “United, We Thrive” IMPACT Luncheon held at the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts.

MikeMahoney

Deputy Mahoney, a long-serving officer with the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office (PBSO), was recognized for his extraordinary commitment and longevity as a mentor. For over 13 years, Mike has volunteered with CPSFL’s mentoring programs at Highland Elementary and Lake Worth Middle, and has spent more than two decades “changing the odds” for youth across Palm Beach County.

As a mentor, Deputy Mahoney is known for his deep dedication, often staying matched with a single student from the 2nd grade through the 8th grade. To date, he has mentored over 10 local youth, providing a stable, trusted friendship that fosters success in school, at home, and within the community. His impact extends beyond simple weekly meetings; he is a constant presence, providing everything from birthday cupcakes and holiday food baskets to organizing “Shop with a Cop” Christmas gifts and hosting workshops for parents.

“Mike is the person who shows up for his mentees with a solution and support,” said Millie Rodriguez, supervisor of mentoring programs at Community Partners of South Florida. “He is a trusted role model and a strong advocate for families. His work consistently strengthens the relationship between law enforcement and the youth they serve, fostering trust and teamwork through shared experiences”

A highlight of the luncheon was the spotlight on Deputy Mahoney’s current mentorship of 10-year-old twins, Bryan and Miguel. Matched since April 2023, the twins, who come from a large family of 10 siblings, find a unique space for individual attention and growth in their sessions with Mike.

Their mother shares that the boys eagerly count down the days to their weekly meetings, which have become essential to their mental health and well-being.

Through the Police Athletic League (PAL) and PBSO Community Policing, Deputy Mahoney continues to bridge the gap between the badge and the neighborhood, proving that a single dedicated volunteer can transform the trajectory of a child’s life.

The afternoon was a resounding success and raised $75,000 towards that goal. This funding will be used to further CPSFL’s mission of strengthening families and neighborhoods.

“I’ve seen firsthand how much stability at home and access to care can change the trajectory of a family’s life,” CPSFL CEO Kelly Powell said “Our focus is simple but urgent, ensuring every family has a safe place to call home, access to the care they need, and a real sense of hope for the future. That means making tough decisions today so we can build a stronger, more sustainable organization that can serve this community for the long term.”

Since its founding, CPSFL has grown to serve more than 8,000 individuals annually. The luncheon featured moving testimonials and a commemorative presentation detailing the roadmap for the organization’s future growth in addressing systemic challenges and building sustainable, thriving communities.

Wellington Bay Luxury Senior Living Announces Transformative Partnership with Els for Autism® Foundation

Luxury senior living community Wellington Bay is proud to announce a new collaborative partnership with the Els for Autism® Foundation to host their Work Experience program.

This initiative, which officially launched on April 6th, provides adults with autism spectrum disorder and other developmental disabilities the opportunity to gain essential hands-on vocational training within a professional hospitality and healthcare environment.

“We are incredibly grateful for the commitment of host sites like Wellington Bay,” said Loden Coleman, Manager of Employment Programs at the Els for Autism Foundation. “They are not only providing a space for our participants to build meaningful, real-world skills, but also creating opportunities for residents and staff to experience firsthand the unique talents and contributions individuals with autism bring to the workplace. Partnerships like this are essential in changing perceptions and opening doors to inclusive employment.”

A strong advocate of strengthening community ties, Wellington Bay is dedicated to creating an inclusive environment where all individuals have the opportunity to thrive.

By serving as a partner site, Wellington Bay is helping to bridge the gap between education and paid employment for adults with autism spectrum disorder.

“We are incredibly excited about this collaboration with Els for Autism,” said Jay Mikosch, Campus Executive Director of Wellington Bay. “At Wellington Bay, we believe in the power of engaging community through meaningful partnerships. We are proud to welcome these talented individuals into our family. Watching them develop their skills alongside our team is a rewarding experience for our residents and our staff.”

The 10-week program, running through June 11th, features three participants working shifts on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.

The interns are currently gaining experience in high-impact areas: one participant is training in Administration, while two are gaining skills in Culinary Services.

Demonstrating the program’s goal of career exploration, one culinary participant plans to transition to a floor technician role for the second half of the program to diversify their skill set.

To ensure a successful integration, Els for Autism provided comprehensive sensitivity training to the Wellington Bay staff prior to the program’s start. Throughout the duration of the internship, an Els for Autism Employment Specialist/Job Coach remains on-site to support both the participants and the Wellington Bay supervisors, fostering independence and creating natural supports within the workplace.

The Work Experience program is designed for adults ages 18+ who have completed high school and are seeking to enter the workforce. Upon completion of the 10-week session, a celebratory banquet will be held to honor the graduates’ hard work and achievements.

Wellington Bay joins an esteemed group of partner sites, including Jupiter Medical Center and PGA National Resort, in demonstrating that inclusive hiring and specialized vocational training add significant value to the local business community.

A New Landmark Takes Shape: Construction Advances on the Future YMCA of the Palm Beaches’ Flagship Facility

Rendering YMCA of the Palm Beaches Campus Overview

WEST PALM BEACH, FL (April 14, 2026) – The future of community health, youth development, and family connection is officially taking shape at Lake Lytal Park as construction progresses on the new YMCA of the Palm Beaches’ flagship facility. The 55,000 square-foot community center currently under construction is part of a $75 million transformational project that includes the Y’s future Olympic-style skate park and Palm Beach County’s future aquatic Center. The project is designed to serve thousands in the community and will be rolled out in two phases. The Y’s Phase I community center will be a a full-service YMCA and Phase II will include a basketball gym, indoor track, and an innovative childcare center.

With foundations complete and the structure now rising, the new two-story community center is beginning to reflect a vision years in the making, one inspired by the most innovative YMCA facilities across the country and designed to become a central hub for wellness, education, and opportunity.

Hedrick Brothers Construction is serving as the general contractor in partnership with the YMCA of the Palm Beaches and serves alongside the Y’s capital development partners – Palm Beach County Parks & Recreation, PBK Architects, Team Pain Skate Parks and others.

“This project reflects the very best of how a YMCA can partner with the community to build something so exceptional that will serve all,” said Tim Coffield, President and CEO of the YMCA of the Palm Beaches. “We looked to the most innovative and impactful YMCAs across the country and asked how we could bring those best practices home to Palm Beach County. The result is far more than a new building, it’s a forward-thinking community hub designed to strengthen families, expand access to wellness, and provide youth development resources for generations to come.”

The new facility will triple the size of the current YMCA and, along with the aquatic center, serve approximately 18,000 community members annually, dramatically expanding the organization’s reach and community impact. Located along Southern Boulevard, where 60,000–70,000 vehicles pass daily, the center will serve as a highly visible and accessible destination for families throughout the region.

The community center is part of a historic public-private partnership with Palm Beach County and is located adjacent to the County’s future aquatics complex and the Y’s future Olympic-style skate park. Together, the campus will create a comprehensive recreation and wellness destination for residents of all ages.

Planned features include:

  • State-of-the-art fitness and wellness facilities

  • Teen youth engagement and resource center

  • STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) lab, robotics arena, and creative arts studio

  • Teaching kitchen and community health programs

  • Child watch, after-school care, and youth sports

  • Community meeting and partner agency space

“The vision for the YMCA of the Palm Beaches was to create more than a building, it’s a community anchor designed to support wellness and connection for every generation,” said René Tercilla, Managing Senior Principal at PBK Architects, the design firm for the YMCA. “Our team drew inspiration from some of the most successful Y facilities nationwide to design a space that is built to serve the evolving needs of Palm Beach County for decades to come.”

For Hedrick Brothers Construction, the project represents a meaningful investment in the future of Palm Beach County.

“The YMCA has long been one of the most trusted and impactful organizations in our community, so being part of building its future home is incredibly meaningful for our team,” said Dale Hedrick, CEO of Hedrick Brothers Construction. “From day one, our focus has been on delivering a facility that reflects the YMCA’s mission, a place designed to strengthen families, support youth, and bring people together. We’re proud to help bring this vision to life and to see it taking shape.”

Construction teams are currently completing structural work and progressing into vertical construction, marking a major milestone in the project’s timeline.

Serving a diverse population of more than 424,000 residents within a six-mile radius, the new YMCA will focus heavily on teen programming, workforce readiness, and community health, areas identified as critical needs for the region.

The facility is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2026.

Driven by People, Defined by Results: Darlene Streit’s Approach to the World of Real Estate

@ Darlene Streit

The Wellington Edit recently caught up with Darlene Streit, a standout name in the local real estate scene, to talk about what shaped her career, what keeps her driven, and why her approach to buying and selling homes feels so different from the rest. With a global perspective, a deeply personal connection to South Florida, and decades of experience, she’s built a reputation not just for results—but for the way she makes people feel throughout the process.

Raised in Toronto, Darlene grew up surrounded by ambition. Both of her parents were highly driven, setting a tone early on that hard work and excellence weren’t optional—they were expected. Her mother, a professional golfer and member of the World Golf Hall of Fame, had an especially strong influence, instilling in her a constant desire to improve and push further. That mindset stayed with her, eventually shaping the way she approaches her work today.

Her connection to South Florida started long before her career did. Growing up, she split time between Toronto and family homes in places like Indian Creek, Bal Harbour, and Wellington. Over time, that turned into a deep familiarity with the area—and ultimately, a decision to call it home.

Real estate wasn’t originally the plan. She first entered the space as an investor in a new urbanist development, but it didn’t take long for things to evolve. After quickly finding success in sales, what started as an opportunity became something much more permanent. Decades later, it’s still where she thrives.

At the core of everything she does is a genuine desire to help people. For Darlene, real estate is about more than transactions—it’s about moments. Whether someone is selling a long-time family home filled with memories or buying a property tied to future plans, she understands the weight behind those decisions. With a Master’s in Psychology, a degree in Economics, and years of hands-on experience, she brings both emotional awareness and strategic insight to every client she works with. It’s a balance that allows her to guide people in a way that feels both thoughtful and confident.

Her approach to relationships is direct, honest, and consistent. Clients know they’ll get straightforward communication and clear advice, which helps eliminate uncertainty and keeps everything moving efficiently. That clarity has built long-term trust—many of her clients return to her multiple times over the years, whether it’s for a second home, an investment property, or another move entirely. She’s present, available, and deeply involved, which makes the process feel seamless on their end.

That level of attention is also what sets her apart. From constant communication to handling the smallest details, Darlene and her team focus on creating an experience that feels fully supported from start to finish. It’s not just about closing deals—it’s about delivering something that people walk away from feeling good about. Her clients often describe the process as smooth, personalized, and above all, cared for.

Her days reflect that commitment. Most are filled with calls, texts, emails, showings, and client meetings—often stretching into the evening. It’s fast-paced, but it’s a rhythm she genuinely enjoys. And when she does step away, it’s usually spent doing the things she loves: bike rides with her husband Tommy, trying new restaurants, hosting friends, or relaxing at home with their dogs.

Sundays, though, are reserved. You’ll typically find her at the National Polo Center, enjoying a match from their box—often paired with brunch and good company. It’s a ritual that reflects both her lifestyle and the community she’s become part of.

What continues to motivate her is simple: people. Having lived and traveled extensively—from Switzerland to India, Italy to London, and across Asia—she’s developed a genuine curiosity about different cultures and ways of life. That perspective carries into her work, allowing her to connect easily with clients from all backgrounds. It keeps every day interesting, constantly challenging her to adapt, listen, and deliver the best possible outcome for each individual.

For those looking to get into real estate, her advice is clear—treat it like a full-time commitment from day one. Success doesn’t come from doing it halfway. It comes from being responsive, knowledgeable, and fully present for clients at all times. When you show up consistently and put in the effort, people recognize it—and trust follows.

Outside of work, she takes full advantage of everything Wellington has to offer. During season, that means equestrian events at Wellington International and polo matches, along with golf at the The Wanderers Club. She and her husband also enjoy biking around town with their two Havanese, Bodhi and Bentley, often stopping at scenic spots like the Palm Beach Polo Club preserve. Between social gatherings, dinners with friends, and the ease of everything being close by, it’s a lifestyle she truly values.

At the end of the day, Darlene’s story is about more than real estate. It’s about discipline, connection, and showing up fully—for her clients, her work, and the life she’s built in a place she’s long called home.

“Having the opportunity to share our love of polo while embracing Virginia’s historic culture has always been an honor, but this year is truly shaping up to be among the most special,” expressed  Tareq Salahi, Chairman & Team Captain of the International Polo Tour®. “The 250th birthday of our beloved country is something we can’t wait to honor, and what better way to recognize the U.S.’s global impact than through a night platforming the beauty of unity, diverse culture, and true connection.  We look forward to giving our fans an event they’ll never forget!”
Presented in association with SINGHA, the Thai American Association, and Hotels at Sea Luxury cruises (producing the new IPT White Lotus Asia cruise sailing January 13, 2027), this year’s IPT Sunset Polo™ will center on America’s bond with long-time ally Thailand, with the night’s aesthetics being inspired by luxurious Thai culture. The night’s myriad of action will include a Celebrity All Star Polo Match (including icons like the NFL’s Tim Johnson and Josh Norman(also a finalist on ABCs Dancing with the Stars) as well as San Francisco 49ers’ Jullian Taylor), Team USA vs Thailand, and the now-annual International Polo Tour Crypto Cup held in association with FAIM.WORLD, a web3 developer specializing in the creation of digital collectibles for fans to enjoy for life. September 19th will also welcome attendees to witness a specially-crafted LED Drone Show followed by a special Thailand-inspired Fashion Show. Information for the official After-Party will be announced in the near future.
Most important to the annual tradition is the IPT’s continued collaboration with WWSC, an organization devoted to helping families struggling with cancer diagnoses by providing childcare, transportation, counseling, and household assistance. Proceeds from this year’s event will go directly to WWSC, aiding their national and even global work building resilience in under-supported communities.
“From the very beginning, our commitment has expanded beyond our love for polo,” added Salahi. “Bringing people together and spreading joy and community has always been essential, and our bond with We Will Survive Cancer is a symbol of that dedication. We are grateful for another chance to support their work, and thrilled we can combine so many beautiful passions into one incredible night.”
This year’s Sunset Polo® will be held:

Boca Helping Hands Receives Transformative Gift to Expand Workforce Development Program

Bob and Amy DeVries
Boca Raton, FL (April 14, 2026)—Boca Helping Hands (BHH) has announced the expansion of its Workforce Development Program, supported by a transformative gift from longtime supporters Bob and Amy DeVries and family. The donation, distributed over the next five years, will support BHH’s Food Assistance and Workforce Development Programs, with a strong emphasis on advancing workforce initiatives. While the unrestricted donation will benefit BHH’s overall mission, the DeVries family has a particular passion for the Workforce Development Program.
Bob DeVries, Chief Commercial and Capabilities Officer at Spencer Stuart, offers extensive experience advising organizations on leadership and critical decision-making. As a core member of the firm’s Board, CEO, and Private Equity practices, his professional work closely aligns with the importance of workforce development.
This transformative gift will further allow BHH to equip individuals with the skills, training, and support needed to secure sustainable, long-term careers.
The program has already proved strong outcomes, with 99 students enrolling last year and 54 successfully obtaining new jobs. Formerly known as the Job Training Program, the initiative was renamed the Workforce Development Program to better reflect the scope of services the organization provides, from skills training and career readiness to a path toward sustainable employment.
“Our commitment to empowering individuals with the tools they need to succeed in the workplace remains stronger than ever. The program supports both unemployed individuals seeking to enter the workforce and employed clients who want to advance their careers,” said Andrew Hagen, Chief Executive Officer, Boca Helping Hands. We fully fund 9 vocational training programs for qualifying individuals, in partnership with schools such as Atlantic Technical College. These programs prepare participants for sustainable, in-demand careers that help build more secure futures.”
All Workforce Development students begin with BHH Job Readiness, which builds essential soft skills, such as emotional intelligence, time management, professional conduct, and stress management. To reinforce these skills, students enrolled in longer training programs participate in “booster” classes focused on goal-setting, confidence-building, and maintaining motivation throughout their journey. Once students complete their vocational training, they work with a BHH Job Mentor to refine their resumes, prepare for interviews, and successfully transition into the workforce.
One Workforce Development alumnus of the Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Program shared their experience in the program, saying, “The entire program was very quick and effective, providing both the technical skills and personal development I needed. I gained discipline, focus, and confidence throughout the process. It truly prepared me to step into the workforce feeling capable, motivated, and ready.” To learn more about all Workforce Development programs, visit www.bocahelpinghands.org/workforcedevelopment and apply today.

The Wellington Edit recently had the pleasure of sitting down with Robyn Adams and Vincent Perrotti, the passionate co-owners of The Salt Suite Lake Worth, to learn more about the inspiration behind their wellness-driven business and the life-changing impact of salt therapy. What began as a deeply personal health journey for both Robyn and Vincent has evolved into a mission to help others find relief, healing, and a renewed sense of well-being. Their approach blends heartfelt care with real results, creating a space where clients feel supported, understood, and truly cared for. From transformative health stories to a strong sense of community, their work goes far beyond wellness—it’s about giving people their quality of life back.

In Wellington, Robyn Adams and Vincent Perrotti have built something that feels a lot more personal than a typical wellness business. At The Salt Suite Western Lake Worth/Wellington, their work is rooted in real experiences—ones that changed their own lives first.

Before this, Robyn spent 35 years as a VP of Marketing and Sales. It was a completely different world, fast-paced and corporate, until a cancer diagnosis forced her to slow down and rethink everything. As her immune system weakened, she found herself constantly dealing with sinus infections and looking for relief wherever she could find it. That’s when she came across salt therapy. Within about six weeks, she noticed a huge difference. It wasn’t just a small improvement—it genuinely changed how she felt day to day. That experience stuck with her, and over time, it turned into something bigger: a desire to help other people feel that same kind of relief.

Vincent’s path into it wasn’t planned either. He comes from a technical background—he co-founded a fire alarm company and later managed communications systems at JFK Hospital—so wellness wasn’t exactly where you’d expect him to land. But after dealing with asthma for years, Robyn introduced him to salt therapy, and it ended up making a real difference for him too. Since then, he’s been able to stop using inhalers and steroids, which is something he never expected.

Now, the two run The Salt Suite together, and what stands out right away is how much they actually care about the people who walk through the door. They talk a lot about how rewarding it is to see someone come in frustrated, sometimes after trying everything else, and then slowly start to feel better. For them, it’s those moments—when someone can finally breathe easier or get back to doing things they enjoy—that make all of this worth it.

That care shows up in the way they run the space, too. It doesn’t feel transactional. Over time, a lot of their clients become regulars, and then something more than that. They notice when someone hasn’t come in. They’ll reach out, check in, make sure everything’s okay. It’s the kind of place where relationships actually matter, not just appointments.

They’ve also created an environment that feels calm and welcoming without trying too hard. It’s clean, comfortable, and personal. They take the time to listen and figure out what each person needs instead of treating everyone the same, which is a big part of why people keep coming back.

Most mornings start the same way—opening up, getting everything ready, making sure the space feels right before clients arrive. From there, it’s a mix of working with clients and handling everything behind the scenes. Like any small business, they’re involved in all of it, and they take a lot of pride in that.

What keeps them going is pretty simple. A lot of the people they meet are at a point where they feel stuck, especially if traditional treatments haven’t helped. Being able to offer something that actually makes a difference—even a small one—keeps them motivated.

If there’s one thing they’d tell someone thinking about getting into this kind of work, it’s to really understand what you’re signing up for. Running a business like this means doing a little bit of everything, from customer care to maintenance to keeping the space running smoothly. It’s not always easy, but for them, it’s been worth it.

When they’re not at the shop, they make the most of living in Wellington. You’ll find them out at places like the Wellington Environmental Preserve, the Wellington Polo Grounds, or catching live music at the Wellington Amphitheater—just enjoying everything the area has to offer.

At the end of the day, their story isn’t really about business. It’s about taking something personal and turning it into a way to help other people feel better—and building a community along the way.
