Nonprofits First is proud to announce that philanthropists Julie and John Kime will receive the 2026 Legacy of Giving Award at the 10th Annual Hats Off Nonprofit Awards, taking place on Thursday, October 15, 2026, at the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts Cohen Pavilion.
The Hats Off Nonprofit Awards celebrate the nonprofit organizations, volunteers, philanthropists, and community leaders who make Palm Beach County a better place to live, work, and thrive.
The Legacy of Giving Award recognizes individuals or organizations who have demonstrated exceptional generosity and commitment to philanthropy, creating a lasting impact on the community through their charitable leadership and service. The Kimes embody this spirit through decades of dedication to education, youth development, and community advancement.
Julie and John Kime are widely recognized throughout Palm Beach County for their unwavering commitment to expanding opportunities and improving lives. Their philanthropic investments have strengthened educational institutions, supported youth-serving organizations, and provided pathways to success for countless students and families. Through their generosity, they have helped create opportunities that will continue to benefit future generations.
The Kimes have been longtime supporters of Palm Beach State College, where their contributions have supported scholarships, academic programs, student resources, and campus initiatives. In recognition of their transformational support, Palm Beach State College named its new Dental and Health Innovation Building after Julie and John Kime in 2026. Their legacy on the campus also includes the Julie and John Kime Library Learning Resource Center, which serves as a hub for student learning and success.
Julie Kime has remained deeply committed to helping others pursue educational opportunities. Through initiatives such as the Julie Kime Hispanic Women Scholarship, she has helped open doors for students working toward achieving their academic and professional goals. Julie and John’s shared belief that education transforms lives has guided their philanthropic efforts.
Beyond education, the Kimes have devoted significant time and resources to organizations that strengthen the fabric of the community. Julie Kime has served as a board member and major supporter of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County and has been recognized for her leadership and commitment to youth development. She is also a founding member of the Central Palm Beach County Chamber of Commerce and has received numerous awards recognizing her philanthropic and community leadership.
Throughout their years of service, Julie and John Kime have demonstrated that philanthropy is not simply about giving financial support; it is about investing in people, creating opportunities, and inspiring others to make a difference. Their steadfast commitment to improving the quality of life in Palm Beach County has strengthened organizations, empowered students, supported families, and left a lasting legacy of generosity and hope.
“The Legacy of Giving Award honors individuals whose generosity creates meaningful and lasting change,” said Trudy Crowetz, President & CEO of Nonprofits First. “Julie and John Kime have exemplified what it means to invest in a community.
