The Wellington Edit Exclusive: Anet Solazzo on Motherhood, Community, and Building Meaningful Connections in Wellington

1. Tell us a little about your background and what led you to your profession.

First and foremost, I’m a mom of three boys, so I understand firsthand how easy it is for women, especially mothers, to put themselves last. Between family, work, and everyday responsibilities, making time for ourselves and maintaining meaningful friendships can sometimes feel impossible. That realization is what inspired me to create Booked & Connected. I wanted to create a space where women from all walks of life could come together, form genuine friendships, network, support one another, and simply have something that was for them. What started as a book club quickly grew into something much bigger—a community where women, professionals, and local business owners can connect and grow together.

2. What do you find most rewarding about what you do?

Without a doubt, the most rewarding part is the friendships and connections that have come from this community. Watching women walk into an event not knowing anyone and leave having made a genuine connection is incredibly special to me. I’ve seen real friendships form through Booked & Connected, both personally and professionally. Knowing that I helped create a space where women feel comfortable showing up as themselves and meeting others they may never have crossed paths with otherwise is something I’m extremely proud of.

3. How do you approach building relationships with the people you serve or work with?

For me, building relationships starts with being genuine. I never want anyone to feel like they are simply a member, a number, or another person attending an event. I make an effort to personally connect with the women in our community, learn about who they are, what they do, and make sure they feel welcomed and included. I also love connecting women with one another when I see an opportunity for a friendship, collaboration, or professional relationship. I believe the strongest communities are built when people feel seen and valued, and that is something I try to bring into everything I do with Booked & Connected.

4. What do you believe sets you or your business apart?

I think what sets Booked & Connected apart is the authenticity behind it. The connections are real and genuine, and I am personally involved in every aspect of the community. I’m not just organizing events behind the scenes—I’m at the events, introducing women to one another, having conversations, supporting their businesses, and building one-on-one relationships with our members. I truly care about the women who are part of this community and want each person who walks into one of our events to feel like she belongs. It has never been about simply building a large group; it’s about building a meaningful one.

5. What does a typical day look like for you?

My days are definitely busy! I start with school drop-offs for my three boys and then transition into running the day-to-day operations of my husband’s orthotics and prosthetics practice. Much of my day is spent working with patients and handling the many moving pieces that come with running a practice. Then it’s back to mom mode—school pickup, sports practices, homework, dinner, and everything in between. Somewhere in that schedule, I’m also planning events, communicating with members, and working on Booked & Connected. It can be a balancing act, but I love that my life allows me to be involved in my family, our practice, and something I created that I’m incredibly passionate about.

6. What keeps you motivated and passionate about your work?

The women keep me motivated. I’ve had so many women reach out and tell me that Booked & Connected came into their lives at exactly the right time or that they didn’t realize how much they needed a community like this until they found it. Hearing that something I created has made a meaningful impact on someone’s life is incredibly fulfilling. Those messages remind me why I started and inspire me to continue growing the community. At the end of the day, if even one woman feels less alone, makes a new friend, discovers a new opportunity, or simply takes some much-needed time for herself because of Booked & Connected, then it’s worth it.

7. What advice would you give someone who wants to enter your field?

My biggest advice would be to do it genuinely. People can feel when something comes from an authentic place, and genuine relationships cannot be forced. Don’t focus solely on numbers, followers, or how quickly something grows—focus on the people. Show up, listen, build relationships, and create something you truly believe in. When your intentions are genuine and you consistently pour into the people around you, the growth will follow naturally.

8. What are some of your favorite things to do or places to visit in Wellington?

One of my favorite ways to spend time in Wellington is actually very simple—watching my boys play flag football on Sundays at Palm Beach Central High School. Our weekends often revolve around our kids and their sports, and I genuinely love it. There’s something special about being on the sidelines, cheering them on and spending that time together as a family. Wellington has such a strong sense of family and community, and those Sunday football days have become some of my favorite memories here.
