From advanced wearable health technology to specialized instructional classes, the community views digital literacy as a fundamental pillar of modern wellness.
The collaboration with TechEase – founded by Enan Khan and Rayan Kha of American Heritage School – brings a personalized, hands-on approach to tech support. A dedicated team of trained student volunteers works directly with residents to master everything from social media and spam protection to setting up FaceTime calls with family members.
“Our residents loved spending time with the students as they worked together to not only solve technology issues but also, learn more about how technology can improve their lives, ” said Jay Mikosch, Executive Campus Director. “We appreciate not only the expertise of the students who came in but also their patience and want to thank them for helping to ensure that our community stays vibrant, engaged, and connected.”
By removing the barriers to technology, the partnership focuses on three key areas of resident health:
- Social Connection: Combatting isolation by facilitating video calls and social media engagement with loved ones.
- Cognitive Engagement: Keeping minds sharp through online courses, puzzles, and digital brain games.
- Daily Convenience: Improving efficiency and independence through the confident use of smartphones and lifestyle apps.
The collaboration between Wellington Bay and TechEase proves that learning has no age limit and that through community and kindness, the digital world can be accessible to everyone.
